When searching, please note that colonies and former colonies may be found under their colonies categories (i.e. Macao will be found under Portuguese Colonies, rather than Asia). British Colonies and former British Colonies may be found under the British Colonies regional categories (i.e. South Africa may be found under British Africa).

If searching for a country not included in the category list, it may be more convenient to enter the country name in the "Search" Box, if one doesn't know whether it was a former colony.

Welcome to the SSSSQIL!

Welcome to the StampSelector Scarce Stamp Quantities Issued List (SSSSQIL)!

This list, or group of lists, is an ongoing project - an attempt to list all stamps for which the known quantities issued or sold number 100,000 or fewer. It currently contains over 9,700 listings, and is the product of several years of work which I undertook initially to supplement my knowledge, and improve my effectiveness, as a philatelic investor.

Quantities issued information is very important for those interested in investing in stamps, as it is a basis upon which one may estimate supply. The information given will be periodically updated, and if necessary, corrected.

Those searching for quantities issued information regarding a particular country's stamps should either enter the country name in the search box, or click on the appropriate search term (or "label") given at right. Colonies, possessions, and former colonies are listed under their former "mother countries" - for instance, Angola may be found under Portugal and Colonies, and Madagascar under France and Colonies. The British Empire is divided into seven categories: Great Britain and Offices, British Europe, British America/Caribbean, British South Atlantic/Antarctic, British Asia, British Pacific, and British Africa.

Please feel free to contact me if you have additional quantities issued information, or detect an error that you would like me to correct. If submitting additional quantities issued information, please cite the source, so that it may be checked.

Those wishing to learn more about investing in stamps may wish to view my book, A Guide to Philatelic Investing (digital list price = $5).

I wish to thank all readers who have viewed my other related sites, StampSelector.com and The Stamp Specialist.
